Moi dix Mois - Beyond the Gate

Well, well, well. Mana finally released a new album. And after alot of trouble, here I am to bring you a review of it!

The Other Side In Blood - lol instrumental intro

Eternally Beyond - This was the song in the sample! Woot. I like it. Either that's Mana-X or K in the beginning.. definately. Notice how much this sounds like Transylvania? This song still rocks though. Here we find that Seth > Juka. While Juka sounded like a young aspiring singer, Seth sounds expirienced. I like how this song has that Malice Mizer feel, without it sounding like Mana's ripping off himself. The guitarwork could be better.

Deus Ex Machina - My first thought: WHOA!!! K's random screaming threw me off. Well. Now we're thrown into the world of Beast of Blood + Kyomu... Feat. Seth!!! Song's still good, despite the uber-80's sound. I love when the vocals change sides and stuff. ..I love the 80's-est part of the song.. The part that I can just imagine Mana swinging a sword gladiator-style to. I like the distorted vocals/distorted kick drums and stuff.. This is easily a fan favorite.

Vain - I like how Seth screams. It's just.. amazing. Sure, this and Eternally Beyond have a few vocal errors, such as the bad mixing.. but still. Wow. This is the most I've heard Mana do since M+M broke up. Yay. It's pretty when he starts singing too. I also like how Mana uses low harpsichord here.. ..WHOA did anyone notice the lack of... synth on this album?! There's still alot of synth, but still.. less than usual! The rhythm just goes so perfectly in this song. I don't know why alot of people hate it. o_O The melodic part's really good too. Overall a good song.

Deflower - Oh gosh, did I really ask for Mana to go Mana on us again? This song's OKAY. But.. it's just too.. soft. Seth saves the day though. Maybe this song will grow on me... But, for some reason, this song has very little appeal to me. Meh.

AHHHHHNMOOOVED ...::cough:: Unmoved - This caught me off guard. It starts out all soft and whatnot, and BAM it cuts off and just says WHAM. Seth sounds AMAZING. Do I hear lead guitar? I'm amazed at how well this was pulled off without Juka. ..What am I saying. It was bound to happen. The only problem: Seth sounds kind of muffled. The drum machine sounds NICE here, though. I just don't like how Mana and K over-chug the notes at one part. I can ignore it though.. :D I'm sure this will change later, but for now this is my favorite MdM song.

The Other Side of the Door - .. o_o;; Horror movie?

And so, here we have it, another good Mana release. I'm impressed. The drum machine sounds weak, but that's okay. The bass might be synth, that's okay. I like how the guitarists do different things... Definately a plus. Well.. I love this album.. definately worth all the hype it was given. Yay.
